I know it has been spring for more than a few days already, but we haven't had too many days where it felt like spring. Today's high of 65 and sunny weather is a taste of what is to come.
Did you know that NYC gets all four seasons?
When I first told everyone I worked with that I was moving to NYC (I was in Alabama at the time), they all thought I was relegating myself to year round cold. It's not Grand Forks, North Dakota folks. And I doubt ND is cold all year. I was surprised to find that NYC has a lovely spring, summer can be beautiful and it can also be uncomfortably hot (keep in mind the streets' ability to absorb heat and the buildings' ability to reflect it and the subways' ability to trap it). Fall in the city is spectacular, and winter...well, there are certainly charms to a snow covered Central Park. Plus if you live like we do in a complex and sans car- there's no need to worry about shoveling snow or scraping ice off your car.
I love having all four seasons.
We bought some Tulips from a random store- I totally dig that you can get fresh cut flowers so easily in NYC. These even lasted pretty long.
Happy Friday everyone!
I loved NYC in the Fall. It was gorgeous! I would love to go back and experience the other seasons. I would love to just go back, period. That city is amazing.
ReplyDeleteWe had a fall wedding (sorta) in the city (we were on Long Island). The day after the wedding we were walking in Central Park- the leaves were all kinds of beautiful and the air pleasantly crisp- it was an amazing day. SO I'm kinda biased about fall, seeing how I have such wonderful memories of my first NYC fall.
