When I woke up this morning and looked out the window, I saw this:
It's a Navy ship. Sometimes we see cruise ships there, but we didn't live here at this time of year last year, so we've never seen the Navy parked there.
So begins Fleet week. Soon, Sailors and Marines will flood the city's most popular spots.
I am glad most people don't think of the Aquarium as a big ticket tourist attraction- we have plans to go there this weekend, and I'd hate to be stuck in a sea of Sailors fighting to see the fishes.
Maybe the Sailors have seen enough fish to last them a while anyway. :) I would say look out for Richard, but he's on a sub, I think. shrug.
ReplyDeleteWhatever I might know about Fleet Week is from what I learned while watching Sex and the City. So, it's not much.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see that episode of Sex and the City. I just know that Sailors are EVERYWHERE (if everywhere is the tourist spots). My poor husband works in Times Square and has to swim upstream in a river of uniforms to get to work when Fleet week rolls around.
