Bright parenting moment

Look! Ranger, come look at this huge worm! It must be six or seven inches long!

Well, I guess it's ok if you pick it up, as long as you don't put it in your mouth.

Well, they can still live after being pulled apart, as long as you don't put it in your mouth.

Yes, worms can be pulled apart. Just keep it out of your mouth.

Oh, how nice, you put it back in the grass...wait, you're picking it back up and squishing it and pulling on it again? *grimace* as long as you don't put it, or your hands, in your mouth.

No, *I* don't want to hold the tiny fraction of what's left of the worm.

Let's put the piece of worm in the leaves. *whose idea was this? Oh, right, mine*

hey, look, a stick! A stick is much more fun than a half an inch of slimy worm. Let's play with the stick.

Great!

No, we can't take the stick home with us.

Ok.

You can carry it for a while...

Good thing I have a brand new thing of baby wipes with us...
