So the city has this great new (new to me anyhow) tool Notify New York that sends out texts or emails about important things in the neighborhood you choose. For instance, it sent me texts announcing the closure of several streets due to flooding, informed me of low flying planes, and let me know that there was a fire causing smoke in NJ.
I tried to add the RSS feed to that site on my page, but blogger isn't recognizing the URL.
It can be set up to send you school closing info and other data too. I think it's very cool.
