Our trip to St. Petersburg, FL

So I am finally snagging some time to tell you a little about our trip.
We were able to get great rates thanks to JetBlue and their vacation packages. The flight was non stop, which is awesome when traveling with a toddler. We were even able to get him his own seat and sued a special, FAA approved harness instead of a car seat.
We rented a Ford Escape. The drive from Tampa to St. Petersburg was very lovely.
We stayed at the Vinoy Renaissance resort and hotel. It is a historic hotel and very popular for events. Right away they treated us like VIPs. It was awesome.

We had dinner at the outdoor restaurant they have near the pool. It was so good, we went there several other times as well.

At first I took pictures of all the places we ate, thinking I could try my hand at travel blogging, but honestly that's just not my thing. We ate at a lot of awesome places- if you go to St Pete, there is no shortage of great food. One place you might not find on your own is The Hangar. You can have your meal and watch small aircraft take off and land- very cool.

The day after People at Play, we went to the dinosaur museum.

In all honesty, I found it pretty tame, but I could see Ranger was having a great time, and so were other and more older kids.

On our last full day we visited the St Petersburg aquarium. Ranger had a blast. I was expecting something a bit larger.  They had a touch tank- the first one Ranger's seen, but you couldn't put your hands in the water (which is all he wanted to do).  We did get to see some really neat critters, like a sea cucumber and a few types of starfish that were really neat.

On our way out of Tampa we got through security so fast it was amazing. Tampa apparently has a stroller lane, and since we know by now what to keep in the diaper bag and what not to, we were through in a flash, which was good because we arrived so early we were able to catch a flight out that was leaving 40 minutes after we checked in. They were boarding the plane when we walked up.

The trip was wonderful, we had a great time. I think we will go back when Ranger's older to take in some of the amusement parks in the area.
