This Saturday it is forecast to be something like 70 degrees and sunny.
I am so excited!
We have our bikes tuned up, our gear all removed from storage, and our biking shorts/shirts/gloves washed and dried. Our helmets are sitting on display in the tv stand, beckoning us to go out and play.
It has been over two years since I was able to ride my bicycle. So I think you can imagine how much I'm looking forward to riding along the west coast of Manhattan. Probably it won't be a long ride, and we'll be navigating new things (In Alabama we would ride on back country roads, so other than a few yahoos in their big cars not wanting to share the road, we didn't have many obstacles, whereas now we will have many more bikers, a ton of pedestrians where there is a shared biker/walker path, and who knows what else).
One day we'll work up to riding all the way to the GWB and across that into New Jersey. I heard there is a route that takes you along the NJ coast and to the ferry that takes you back to Manhattan. Sounds like a ton of fun to me...but that would be a very long ride and we're going to have to take it slow at first...
